Mwandani International is a nonprofit organization that was launched by George Kegode in 2018 with the help of several of our church members. This organization is dedicated to improving rural livelihoods in Kenya through the adoption of innovative and sustainable farming practices that increase crop production and enhance crop value. Mwandani International is holding a Shoe Drive and will earn funds based on the total weight of shoes collected as Funds2Orgs, a Florida-based social enterprise, will purchase all the donated footwear. The dollars collected from this fundraiser will help poor Kenyan farmers develop small-scale industries that produce value-added agricultural products thereby increasing earning potential and creating job opportunities. All donated shoes will be redistributed throughout the Funds2Orgs network of partners in developing nations. Funds2Orgs helps impoverished people start, maintain, and grow businesses in countries such as Haiti, Honduras, and other nations. Proceeds from the shoe sales are used to feed, clothe, and house their families. You can help by donating gently used or new shoes. Please leave donations in the container in the back of the sanctuary by Sunday, December 27. Also, spread the word to your friends and family. Let’s help Mwandani International collect pounds and pounds of shoes to receive lots and lots of funds!
